I registered, but I can't login?
|
Check your email to get your new password. It gets sent out immediately, but
due to various mail bottlenecks on the Internet you may need to wait a few minutes
before it arrives in your mailbox. Yes, this means you need a valid email
address.
Once you get your password, you can change it to anything you like.

|
I registered under the wrong email address?
|
If you know the owner of the email address, get your password to login to this site
from them; login with the (wrong) email address. Then change your email address by
going to the
Preferences page.
If you don't know the owner of the email address, or you realized too late that you gave
an invalid address,
send an email to the administrator of this site.
Include the incorrect address if you remember it.
|
I want to change my password/email/biographic information?
|
You can change any information you gave at registration time, by going to the
Preferences
page.
|
|
Why can't I post a message?
|
Only members can post a message. (You can
Register at any time.)
Once you've registered, you can reply to existing messages, or add your own. Make sure you enter your
password correctly when you post your message.
|
|
How do I send another member a private email?
|
Click on the member's name in the
Directory. You don't need to have your browser set up to send mail for this to work. |
|
Can I post my email address? How do I see someone else's email address?
|
There are no restrictions against posting your address anywhere on the message boards.
You might choose not to though: some programs will visit any public site on the Internet
and collect email addresses. These addresses are then sold to mail lists. Welcome to the world
of "spam."
This site doesn't expose anyone's email address without their knowledge. (What does that mean?
It means when you send someone a private email, the receiver sees your email address.) Also,
some of our members have professional or personal reasons to avoid random people being able
to see their email address.

|
I'd like to post a picture, but I don't have anywhere to leave it on the Internet?
|
Send a message to the administrator of this site,
and include the picture you'd like to post. We'll host the picture on our server, and send you
back a URL that you can use to refer to it (see below).
